In January 2003 Philip was part of a group show called Mutiny, at the Barge House on the South Bank.

In this show he did a five-day performance piece during which he developed an installation from scratch. He printed his torso using coloured slip onto sheets of cream-white clay.

In Slab I he was showing live the first stages of making his ceramic Slab Torsos. The public was able to observe his work and installation throughout the five days.
